Yes it does. 

If more people pointed out the stupid things in the world it might be a better place.

True, but pointing them out and making fun of them are two seperate things. You can never make the world a better place by making fun of people's mistakes, I think that way at least

I have a friend who makes cakes for competitions.  She always comes to me to get my opinion of her cakes because I am blunt and don't pull punches.  If I think it sucks I tell her point blank and fully realizing she just spent 8 hours making it.  She appreciates it because nobody else is willing to be honest with her and she needs the criticism to improve.  And she knows my expectations always increase.  If she does something well once I expect it to be better next time.

I'm not always at my bluntest but I try.

Islam desperately needs reform. And with today's global society, I think it will get it fast. A lot of confrontations along the way, though.

I would say the muslims would need reform more than islam. except malaysia and indonesia they live in the poorest parts in the world. There must be some reason behind it.
