Yeah my PS3 owning friends pretty much split into two camps.
Gamers and Film Gurus..
The Film guys hardly play games and the gamers rarely, if ever, watch films.

My 360 owning friends said they only got 360 because it came free with their purchased phone, they only played on it for about a day or 2 then traded it in to get more PC games.....
I haven't watched a single film on my PS3 yet and I bought it in November last year. Consoles are for video games, not for media centres imo. I've got a perfectly good DVD player, mp3 player and computer to handle all of my multimedia needs, I've just bought my consoles just to play games on!

Sorry, here you have an exception.
The prime reason PS3 owners buy a PS3 in general is to play games. You can see this easily as the PS3's attach rate was much higher last year than on the XBox 360 and this was also the case during the XBox 360's strongest year of software sales.
The survey shows Blu-Ray awareness is great amongst future PS3 buyers, but the conclusion is very flawed indeed.
The survey (multiple options):
If I hadn't a PS3 I would opt for:
I want Blu-Ray capabilities (great for games as well as movie playback)
and
I like the PS3's software library
I wouldn't opt a specific game, as Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc, etc are all great exclusives.
Someone else may opt Blu-Ray and specific game (like Gran Turismo 5). Why the hell could one come to the conclusion exclusive games don't matter based on these results?
I mean software library including the awesome exclusives (63%) + waiting for specific game (12%) (does not per see have to be an exclusive) together would make 75%.
So games is thus probably significantly outranking Blu-Ray (Movie playback, also great for mostly exclusive games) as the main driver of sales and there's overlap as various exclusive games would have been less impressive without Blu-Ray capabilities.
Well that's just flawed methodology.
It's asking why people would want a PS3... not why they would buy one.
It also doesn't take into account 360 owners and the like.
Additionally it ONLY ranks it as "If it was on the top 5"
Meaning Blu-ray could of been the 5th thing every time.
Also it only offeres 5 options I would of went.
1) Specific Game (VC)
2) Games
3) Games coming out.
with 4 being Blu-ray... because I was out of everything.

I would guess "waiting for specific games" would overlap with awsome exclusives... since you did have to pick 5 things afterall.
