Shooting vamp in the face is useless. The fastest way to kill him is by shooting him in the head and grabbing and stabbing him with the syringe immediately as he gets up or else he'll be out of reach. I didn't play the game on easy either, me and my room mate have raped the game. I may have embellished on how many shots in the head it takes (normally around 3). Still it doesn't take away from the fact that he is the easiest boss of life and is an insult to the first battle you guys had outside of MGS4.

Let me guess..you actually tried to kill Vamp as if he was a normal man, correct?

The game has a lot of strengths, Everyone knows what they are so I ain't gonna bore you with them.

However, the game has some big flaws too, namely the shitty ai (hey we just heard over the radio that someone has broken into our super top secret base, lets look for him for a minute then give up and go home) I also felt it gave off a bad messege - that you shouldn't wear glasses even if you need them. I know I was wearing a high tech camoflage suit, but I was 1 metre away from an enemy having very loud sex with his mother and he still didn't notice me.

I would require vast improvements to the above before I would even hand the game "best stealther ever" I find that the Splinter Cell games have better controls and more realism in the gameplay and ai - and MGS4's advantage in graphics and story is obviously not going to make up for shortcomings in gameplay

A very balanced statement with pros and cons. I agree.

@darth, I was extremely hyped on my first run, but when I replayed it, I started to notice all the flaws. MGS4 is a poor man's stealth game with a terrible story.

 

Nevermind the game being disappointing, what's more disappointing is that you don't have me on your friends list.. u__u

I saw this thread yesterday when it had zero replies and I refused to post in hopes that it would die before anybody posted in it. Since that didn't happen, I'll post my two cents:

This thread pops up every 2-3 weeks. I'm tired of it. And people's abilities to overlook the numerous, obvious flaws in gameplay, graphics, acting, characterization, and overall execution in this game is insane. MGS4 isn't even the best MGS game, much less the best game of all time. Sorry. I don't feel like being tactful, this time. MGS4 was a disappointment.

lol..my roommate was fighting vamp with a crapload of ammo. I left for a moment thinking he'd beat vamp and tell me about it, but no...he was still fighting him 15 minutes later.....and he never died. I had to tell him the simplest pattern ever and he beat vamp in 2 minutes. LOL
