On several other message boards I belong to, users have an option of viewing the site for free or donating to the site and having the ads removed. Is there any chance this could be implemented here? It would probably bring ioi a lot of revenue.. I know I would donate even if the ads weren't removed.. besides the free iphone ads are just.. the most annoying thing ever. Especially for those of us who (shamefully) have to use IE and can't turn them off.

There are ads on the site?? Thank god for FireFox and adblocker, i haven't seen ads in a long time on most sites.

Firefox and AdBlock Plus are free. If I want to donate, I'll donate, whether ads have anything to do with it or not.

Ad blockers are not nice. That's how sites can afford to stay free. If everyone used them, many sites would have to shut down or require payments.

That said, the talking ads are too annoying. I am tempted to block those, but would probably end up blocking others too....
