Oh my, Legend proved Pokemon games shouldn't be counted together with a Wikipedia second hand sumation.

I swear, Legend11 has nothing but the most reputable sources, first its members on Neogaf saying SMG was five hours long, now its the semantics of a Wikipedia article.

There's just no arguing against solid sources like this. For example, last week a ten year old boy down the street told me Halo 3 sold over 100 million copies its first day, so clearly VGchartz is undertracking sales. ;)

if you evered played pokemen red and blue, you would know that they have the exact same story line. the only  difference is that red has some pokemon that blue doesnt have and vice versa. i cant believe you looked up an wikipedia article on pokemon red and blue! actually i cant believe you havent played none of them! (based on the fact that you think that they are different)

Even if it's the exact same storyline with just different pokemon it still makes it a different product. And what if I haven't played any of them, have you played every game ever made?

^So, by your logic Halo 3 *didn't* sell 6,000,000 copies, right? It actually sold less, divided between the Normal, Limited and Legendary editions as they are different products. Seems fair to me, someone go and update the database please.

@Legend. Red & Blue aren't different products, they're the same product with slight differences. Its like not counting a limited edition of a game that comes with an extra character (Preorder only! Buy now!) as the same game because its ever so slightly different.

Guys, you are going off topic, just discuss the 20 Million GTA 4 prediction, which is rediculas imho. I say 10 Million is the absolute Maximum (for both combined) LTD. And it will take a long time to accomplish it. By the time the User base is strong enough to support higher numbers, there will be the next GTA game.

I have no doubt in my mind that this game will sell 20 million before it is all siad and done. I just can't wait tell next year when all of those Wii people are ready to play it and it is not their. GTa is going to be the point were HD consoles begin to really start hammering the Wii. I think it will also be the point were the PS3 starts beating the 360 in America. After Warner goes Blu-ray exclusive at CES, HD-DVD will be dead. MS will drop the 360 to 250,300, and 400 which will in turn force Sony to 350, and 450 (granted thier is no other PS3 modle by then). By the time GTA hits Blu will be heavy on the consumers mind, and it will factor heavly into their console decision. It may also help that 20 million people remember playing this game on PS2 4 years ago. In any case I see it at 12 million on the PS3, and 5 million on the 360 when it is all said and done.

I can already here the roar of the retards, and yes it will sell this good even with the small user bases. GTA3 came out with a similar UB on the PS2 and it is at like 14 million.

Seriously, I'd be very surprised if this game would sell more than 10 million LTD. There are several reasons for that. First, the attach rate has always been low, it just didn't matter because the PS2 was a beast install-base-wise. Second, multiplatform games seem always to loose some steam, whatever the reason for this might be. Third, GTA 3 was a smash hit nobody expected and the gameplay was very fresh and new. Now the genre is overcrowded. Also, the brand itself is not as big anymore as it has seen many installments since GTA 3. And last but not least, Take 2 is in trouble and I'm not sure if they will deliver the same quality they used to.

I expect the sales to be split up like 6-7 million X360 and 2-3 million PS3.

PS. Everyone thinking that the PS3-version of GTA will outsell SSBB should try smoking something else in the future, this stuff is just too bad...
