Forums - Microsoft - WHAT THE HELL MICROSOFT?

Okay my 360 broke on 11-11.  It just rejected a disc, no sounds or anything, and from then on out, the disc drive just didn't work.  So i figured okay, that really sucks, but it shouldn't take long to fix.  I called up microsoft, set up a repair, and they had shipped me the box by the 14th.

Three days, processing okay whatever.  The 5-6 day packaging process took until the 19th.  I sent it in within the hour, I wanted my 360 fixed....  it took only 4 days for it to get back.

I called up the day they said it was delivered to ask how much longer.  They said they hadn't gotten it and to call back in 7 days... 7 days to get processed.  That pissed me off.

So today, the 28th, it's in their system and getting processed.

Some guy named jake said it would take until the second or third week of december to get it fixed.  That is more than a month of time, that i don't have my 360.  I bought mass effect the other day, I had just bought COD4 before my 360 broke, and i am still in the middle of half life ep 1.  What the F*** am I going to do?!?

It took my wii 11 days to get fixed! Eleven! Why is your product still so defective it takes 30+ days to fix a single console!? What am i going to do...

You said your Wii was fixed? Go play it in the interm.

It sounds like they might be overwhelmed with X360s to repair.

Anyhoo, you do have a Wii, so at least you aren't completely gameless.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

Buy another 360 and return it when you receive your fixed 360.

Does MS have an option to send you a temporary X360 while they fix yours? I know Nintendo has an option if your Wii breaks. Nintendo sends you a temporary Wii you can play games on while they repair your own. Then when they send your fixed system you send the temporary one back.

Hold your horses, the 360 is a bit more complex than a wii.

Now, if you'd have bought a PS3...

Okay, I'm kidding, dont start a large war here. But seriously, that's ridiculous. a 30 day wait? I sincerely hope microsoft offer some kind of compensation for that...

I feel for you buddy, 30 days is a long time, and with new and unplayed games it makes the wait that much worse.

Actually, I don't think that that should matter for turnaround time.  No matter how fancy of powerful your motherboard or CPU or GPU are, pulling out the old ones and putting in new ones is only as difficult as physically accessing the part in question.  I doubt that the Wii's innards are THAT much easier to navigate.  And in this case it's only the DVD drive -- probably the easiest part to replace!

I wonder if MS's repair shops are that overworked, or literally waiting for parts to come in before they fix his 360.  In either case:  BOO!

The Wii should keep you occupied for a month, at least I think there's enough good games on it to last that amount of time.
