but then you get to try knifing them to death with only 4 throwing knives, 3 shotgun shells and 6 pistol bullets left of your ammo lol.

That's what I tried, but at the end of the level there are so many of them that I just ran away till the goal.

yea that section is a bitch, but I think I had just as much trouble in the last section I played where there were these suicide globs shit they pissed me off because you can't really knife them so you have to waste ammo then I learnt you could kill the spawners and that made it easier but I still died a few times when they grouped up behind me, dropped down onto me or killed the other guy.

Oh boy, don't get me started on this part... So frustrating, especially that you have to do it 2 times. The other guy is useless as he will shoot only stuff that is dead in front of him ( sometimes he doesn't shoot at all )

It was a good game tho i nvr beat it, i wish it was on the PS3 tho.

I Hate the fact that all these pillows are contaminated by retard!!

1. Unlimited spawning enemies: It's rare in a game where ammo is limited that the enemies themselves are...unlimited in many areas. This is an aspect I absolutely love and believe should be implemented in more survival horror games, immersion doesn't occur when I kill 4 monsters and suddenly the scary music is gone and I know it's time to explore. The scariest times are when I have to explore and fight at the same time.

2. Librarian: The librarian monster is without a doubt in my mind THE BEST MONSTER IDEA ever created! Now I played on Hardcore and killing a librarian will cost you 2-3 clips (that's about 1/5th of my ammo supply), only to have a new one pop out 10 seconds later. So how do you stop such a beast? Simple, you must stare at it...the longer you stare at a librarian the higher chance of you scaring it away with your ugly mug.

I liked the game but I disliked those 2 things.

1. I hate unlimited respawn in any game, I find it stupid.

2. I agree that the librarian was a good idea, but most of the time, it doesn't work. You stare it but after a few seconds, he still attacks you. Also, even if you scare him off, he reappears after 2 seconds and you have to do the staring thing again.

I felt like the unlimited respawn in this game made it feel so much more realistic. In real life if you were going through the den of the lions, it would be impossible for you to kill all of the lions without some Mjolnir 4 armor.

Same realism with the librarian, he walks foward trying to hit you as a test, the second the librarian does hits you it's as though oh he figured you're squishy and he has dominance over you. The second you hit him he gets mad and will attack you. To me the librarian acts so much like a real animal monster would, you stare at him because in animal instincts the one who shows his back first is weak (this occurs a lot with dogs actually).

@Zarx I played the game on 360, visuals were extremely unimpressive, sometimes I'd shine a light at a texture and see the softest texture I've seen in a new game. Literally looked like it was melting.

@Lifa I'll be trying out Nier next that game looks great! I agree with you on the meta rating for Metro should be bumped up 6-7 points, it's not fair that without a big name backing them they get docked off points. Bioshock 2 is listed as 88, I'd say if Metro 2033 really deserved 77 than Bioshock 2 should be low 80 at most.

Gameplay wise I felt its a solid 8/10. It establishes a good base for a sequel since everything can be fleshed out a bit further. Stealth can be improved, shooting, AI...etc

Visually on the 360 this game is very good...but ont he Pc its mindblowing. When detail is boosted to very high and Nvidia 3D vision is used...my god does it look good.
And its pretty well optimized too...not like that resource hog Crysis.

Don't be a wuss...take up an actual challenge! :)

Yes Very Underrated, Fell in love with the game.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Still playing through this on PC. After upgrading to a 4890 it looks absolutely epic on very high settings. Gameplay is great, I think some reviewers missed the mark.

Can the 4890 run this game when everythings maxed out? When I say run...I mean that it doesn't dip under 30 frames per second. I can do it with the gtx295 but when I kick in nvidia 3D vision I got to lower AA, resolution to 1766x992...
