Forums - Sony - Sony Does it again... Three Weeks Running (In Japan)

Congratulations to the PS3. I like myself a close race and some good competition.

What I find really scary is how close 360 and PS3 are mirroring each other saleswise in the last three weeks worldwide (with differing regional weight). I think this cant be coincidence but has to do with them space aliens that were sighted in Texas.

I wonder how this will play out. American is the $$ market. Americans spend more on games/systems than any other country. XBOX owns US, for the console war (Wii is not a part of this war). PS3 owns Japan, and very possibly Europe.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

could be the start of an epic battle between Sony and Nintendo. I hope it is, that always turns out well for the gamers

True, domination does not stimulate development.

@eugene--i dont know if that would even help

On Topic--shows that the ps3 is starting to hit the right price point over there for teh system...Still not sure why the wii is at its level--i mean its not bad sales for it, just seems to have leveled off

The Wii is doing exactly what should be expected of it for the time of the year... the only thing dissapointing is Galaxy.

The PS3 however is doing incredibly well for this time, that is the hardware suprise for Japan at the moment, yet everyone focuses on how the Wii is lower than it was, despite it being perfectly normal.

So i am glad of this thread because, at least from the OP, it seems to be praising Sony more than forseeing the doom of Wii.

Ain't my fault.  I voted for Kodos.

the PS3 being very competitive is for imporant for its Japanese based games. Give the devs confidence that it is still a viable platform and shouldn't be overlooked.

Isn't White Knight Chronicles still set for release this year in Japan? If so, that might spur even more sales. Oh, and DMC4 is coming out in Janurary in Japan also. The PS3 sales in Japan might not slow down for some time then...unless these games are delayed.

So theyve closed the gap by another 400 units, another 100 years and they will be neck and neck

I just have to say this.

Congrats to the PS3 for not just beating the Wii once, but 3 weeks in a row.    It's not an easy thing to do considering how much Japanese gamers love the Wii.  But, with Wii Fit, we'll see exactly how anticipated this game is with the sales it puts out in Japan when it releases.

@ jjseth

That pic is hilarious

Yep, only another 5 years with both consoles selling at this level and PS3 will catch up with Wii in Japan.
