My point is that when the Playstation outsold the Gameboy, it was treated (rightly) as a Pretty Big Deal.

Not doing th reverse is just silly.

The DS will be the best-selling dedicated game platform (console, if you will) regardless of the fact that it's handheld.

The DS will continue to sell like hot cakes once the 3DS (Temp) will launch. Remember that the consumer market doesn't even know a new handheld is about to launch. Also is likely that the 3DS will be quite pricey which means DSi and DSiXL will receive price cuts.

although last gen for me was xbox > gamecube > ps2, its still great news to hear ps2 doing well.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
