Forums - Nintendo - *Help Me Pick A New Nintendo Franchise.*

Hello I am wondering about what Nintendo franchise I should get into. MY favrite game of all time is Pikmin 2 and my favorite franchise is Pikmin as well. My 2nd favorite is Resident Evil in which I played and beaten almost all of them. Since their hasn't been a new Pikmin and they won't put N.P.C Pikmin 2 out in America I am looking for a 2ndary franchise from Nintendo to play. I got tired of Mario and don't plan on buying Galaxy 2(At the moment) so I want to find another great Nintendo franchise to play like Pikmin. I tried Metroid and was thinking about buying the trilogy before Other M came out but people in another thread said that Metroid may be to hard for me since I got lost at the start of both Prime 3 and Super Metroid. Zelda is also hard as I own 4 Zelda games(Majors Mask,O.O.T,Windwaker, and Twilight Princess on Gamecube) and NEVER beaten on or came close to it.

So in your opinion what game franchise from Nintendo would be a good one for me to get into? When I say get into I mean play almost all of the games ever made from that franchise(Starting from the 64 Gen and maybe going back to the 2-D days) The franchise can be new or old its your opinion. Also you can pick to say stay with Mario or try zelda or Metroid over. I am VERY interested in Metroid but as I said it may be to hard for me so... its up to you. Also please don't say buy a guide book or look online with walkthroughs because I HATE doing that and would rather not play at all!

Remember I want an ausome franchise that will make me want to beat it again and again like with Pikmin or Resident Evil! With Animal Crossing or Endless Ocean or other games you don't really "beat" then one I can play over and over again and not get tired of it.

Thank You.

I suggest Fire Emblem, it's a strategy game and it's very easy to get into and very addictive.

I'm also about to dive into a new Nintendo franchise, and I choose Fire Emblem. I'm trying to track down the Gamecube one and then the Wii one after.

I didn't beat all of them but yeah a bunch I beat #1 twice the 3rd twice the 5th once, code veronica once, and the 2nd one which is my favorite about 7 times total. I had trouble with 4 because its more action and less puzzle. Which one do you say I should try?

"New" and "Nintendo franchise". Doesn't compute. Unless you wait for Vitality Sensor games. "Games"?

Well the conduit was a pretty good game and the second one which is suppose to be much better is coming out this year as well so I would suggest trying it out.

I agree, I don't see how you would have trouble with Metroid when you have played so much Resident Evil.

What I would suggest instead of playing the 3D metroids however is going back and playing the 2D Metroids. They are not only a little easier, but much faster and 'common sense' gameplay. Much like Zelda. Which its understandable you said you haven't finished a Zelda either, but it seems you started right away with the later 3D Zeldas which may follow the same trend of what I'm talking about.

I would suggest starting with Metroid: Zero Mission, then Metroid II, then Super Metroid then Metroid Fusion. Basically, the 2D games in chronological order. Not only will it prepare you for Metroid: Other M storywise, but it'll introduce you back into Metroid gradually difficultywise.  The 3D Metroid games are still great, but they don't tie into the main Metroid storyline Metroid: Other M is going to go into and they're a lot more confusing to play (a ton of backtracking, harder bosses, etc).

As for Zelda, you should also play that someday.  I'd suggest a similar formula for playing those games.  Start with the earlier games and work your way up.  Only game you might have a problem with is Zelda II.

Six upcoming games you should look into:
