Since everyone's trying to start flame threads:

 

Will MGS4 leave Halo 3's launch sales "IN THE DUST" as people are assuming???

MGS4 will be significantly less than Halo 3.

However Gran Turismo is a big title.

- it depends WHEN the game is released (Xmas ? not Xmas ?)
- it depends how high are the review score
(Halo3 was overhyped like AssassinCreed is)

Overall, about sales

Halo3 >> MGS4
Halo3 > or = GT5

Note : I expect MGS4 and GT5 to MOVE a lot more of system than Halo3 but to have less software sales.

LoL. Who's everyone? Seriously I haven't seen a single person here claiming MGS4 will outsell Halo 3. It won't. It will sell very well but definitely not as good as Halo 3. Microsoft created the biggest hype machine ever to achieve such impressive launch. Also MGS isn't a FPS. This game really doesn't appeal to everyone.

making it look like it will propel PS3 to the second place next to Wii

MGS4 has simply no chance against Halo 3.

anyway - lets wait if MGS4 will not come to x360 :)

You do know that PS3 is more than 7 million behind X360 right now? Obviously PS3 can catch X360 some day but definitely noone claims MGS4 will turn the tide in one day. MGS4 probably will sell more systems than Halo 3 and it will have a very possitive affect but your assumption that so called Sony supporters imply MGS4 will boost PS3 enough to catch an X up is simply wrong. With very good pace PS3 can catch X in 2009 or 2010. It will be an effect of great line-up not single game.
