Forums - Sales - (Rumor) New Price drop comming this holiday (yes even Nintendo)

I don't think there is going to be a price cut, they want there new controllers to the market and the only way to do this is to include them in every system sold. I think 360 prices will stay teh same with natal added.

And I think PS3 prices will stay the same, and move added to the bigger HD sku.

Well we'll see...It might happen. Might not. I am just saying that Sony tend to deny a lot of stuff that tends to be true. If you have difficulty with that then that's all on you.

Oh I have nothing wrong with understanding that Sony often denies stuff that is true.  They denied the slim was even in production at all just 3 months before it was released.

I am simply saying Sony isn't denying anything yet.  They simply made a statement that they plan to focus on profitability and not cut the price for another year.  If you mean they tend to announce stuff that is false then yes I also understand they do that a lot too, but when all we have is their word we can't just assume it's a lie or a coverup everytime.

Wait and see

m$ price cut like others have said is coming, just when. just before halo:reach, seems the best spot for the price cut.
sony i think will wait to maybe spring next year to build more profit on their systems, then drop by $50.
nintendo, i think if they see natal and move really does get the casual/regular gamers interested in them, then they will drop the wii's price. but i highly doubt it will happen, unless the other motion controllers get that said interest.

I read a few weeks ago that they cut the price of the Wii in Australia by 100 Bucks (still pretty expensive there).

Could be a prelude to a price-cuts elsewhere.

"What have i done.? Is it too late to save me from this place? From the depths of the grave? We all are those .. who thought we were brave."

Well, we now have semi-confirmation for at least one of the big three having a price cut. With Sony's recent forecast of 15 million PS3s for their 2011 fiscal year, it's no longer a question of whether or not they will cut price and now a simple question of how much.

Actually I think that is Sony's arrogance at overestimating the success of their PS Move.  I assume they are most likely thinking everyone on the Wii front will just jump right on board, which they won't, IMO.  The cost of entry is just way too high for the Wii's audience to "upgrade".

They already made hardware revisions that should start filtering out into the wild soon (the reason for the shortages the last few months).  That revision was just enough for them to possibly break even or make a very minor profit per unit sold.  The only way they will be able to price cut to meet that ridiculous figure is if they took another major hit on profits and start taking a $100 loss per console sold.  With $840 million lost over the last fiscal year, I doubt they are going to want to keep losing money on the PS3.

I am expecting a revision to that figure to end up closer to 11-12m for the year.

I still believe that Move wont live up to sony expectations, the Wii offers 1:1 motion and its cheaper and Natal I think will be seen as just another Eyetoy

if rumor is true 15 million 4 ps3 is pssible
