Samsung is working on OLED screens also and if you go by the wikipedia entry on OLED technology they are currently ahead of Sony.

So many corporations and uni's are working on OLED it's very exciting.
Hull University have developed a process of manufacturing OLED cheaper.

No way, who would spend the money on a HD 3D tv just to watch standard def. 3D dvd's. I think they pretty much have to implement some kind of blu ray deal or no one will go for it.

Yes, do keep telling yourself that. And consumer reviews. and professional reviews.
You do realize that Samsung is the virtually undisputed chief when it comes to HDTVs, right? |
Professional reviews are typically something I never trust on consumer electronics. Way to easily to be paid off to give a good review.
Consumer reviews can also be questionable. If you ever look a lot of the reviews are useless fanboyism. It takes some time to find the good reviews of a product.
At the end of the day, yes Samsung is the #1 HDTV manufacturer in the world, but any manufacturer within the top 5 makes insanely high-quality TVs. Buying a Toshiba, Sony, Samsung, Visio, or LG really makes no difference now a days when having to worry about buying a bad product. Just stay away from the Walmart versions of theeir TVs. They are truly garbage.

Invalid - attempt to interject one's personal interpretation of a word by citing an example of a different source independent of the original source the word was derived from.
So thank you for wasting bandwidth. ;)

Um not at all. What Hifi have given a reccomendation to Sony TV's in 2009. But there is no Sony TV's in their beest of 2009. So my point is which you have missed entirely is that a recommendation is entitrely different to Best of. You see?The source that was quoted was not a best of. It was a review with a reccomendation. In other words a good TV. But by no means is it a best of or top 5. :)

Me too, the 11 inch OLED costs £2500 here... and of course an OLED looks better than a LED, they are totally different. |

I think the point they are making to you is that your comparing LED to OLED.
Basically, Sony dont make the best LCD's, dont make the best LED's. And when we have comparative OLED's to compare you'll find they wont have the best OLED's. At least according to the researchers out there.

well remember they are also making wallpaper TV too. Frankly Sony R&Ds some interesting tech. Implementation might not be the best, but its always interesting and of good quality.
