Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Power on No More Heroes, Spore Wii Confirmed, and more!!!

Now if only they advertise No More Heroes as "Like playing a Quentin Tarantino film" then it will be sure to sell 2-3M.

BTW the thread title says spore confirmed for the wii. Are we talking about the will wright spore where you design creatures and they figure out how to use their limbs by themselves?

That's the only Spore I know of, but it's being published by EA and they plan on releasing it on everything. With all the procedural generation involved (including procedural music by my personal god Brian Eno), it should be able to run on a calculator.

No More Heroes sounds better every day. I've been interested since I first read an interview with Suda51 in which he said his favorite game was Out of This World by Eric Chahi. That's all it took. Then I played Killer7 and loved it and I've been waiting for this ever since.

Favorite Companies: Nintendo, Blizzard, Valve.
Recent New Favorites: Grasshopper, Atlus. (R.I.P. Clover.)
Heroes/Homies: Shigeru Miyamoto, Gunpei Yokoi, Will Wright, Eric Chahi, Suda51, Brian Eno, David Bowie.
Haiku Group: Haiku Hell.
Nemeses: Snesboy, fkusumot.
GameDaily Article that Interviewed Me: Console Defense Forces.

Whatever Suda51's smoking, I want some.

As you may have guessed by my user name and avatar, I'm a big fan of the guy, so NMH is perhaps my most anticipated title of 2008. I can't wait to see what kind of crazy shit he does in this game.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Sonic RPG

Wait, isn't this thread old? i could have swore I read it before.

Me too... =/

Sonic RPG is the one I was most concernd with. Since it's still coming all is good. NMH also looks good. If I could find a Wii I'd buy it for that game alone most likely.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Let me hype No More Heroes a little more:

Excrept from IGN(http://wii.ign.com/articles/837/837513p1.html):

When the game began to take final shape in May, the team had a certain famous game creator whose name starts with "M" (they wouldn't get more specific) try it out. "This isn't good," came Mr. M's response. Suda, Wada and Kimura felt the same way, so they implemented various adjustments, upped the quality, and, according to Wada, made it "like a different game." Mr. M had a more positive reaction on seeing the new version, saying "Mr. Suda, this can work!"

Once you get No More Heroes, you may want to pay particular attention to one section of the game. When in the room of Travis, the main character, you have the chance to interact with a cat. Apparently, Suda didn't like the cat's motion at first, and his staff had to spend two months working on that small area of the game before he would approve.

Comments: Interesting bits are highlighted, there are more at the source.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

What kind of RPG is Sonic RPG? ARPG?

KOTOR but Sonic?

Turn based?

Card based?

Spore Wii has been official for a while. Here's the Guardian interview with Will Wright, from October:

Also: Mario Kart Wii will have old tracks? Oh, hallelujah! Here's hoping for 20 (four from each previous MK game)!
