Forums - Sony - Sony buying Media Molecule one of the best decisions they've ever made?

From what we've seen from LittleBigPlanet and from what were going to see from LBP2 right now Sony owns a company that makes one of the most unique games this gen. It's decisions like that, that's making the PS3 have the best games this gen, IMO. LittleBigPlanet2 could be one of the biggest games to come  out of Sony, I see big things coming from it.

Media Molecule has got to be one of the most important companies that Sony owns, they made a wise decision keeping these games exclusive to the PS3.

Well I'll be damned, I always thought that  it was MM. Oh well LBP and LBP2 is still enough to make them one of the biggest companies owned by Sony.

i'm agree....LBP2 looks AMAZING, and i CAN'T wait to play it.

I'm Back! - Proud owner of the best doomed handheld of all time!

don't forget lbp psp :D
just look at it this way lbp(ps3) has sold about 3.3 million
lbp psp has sold 500k
and i think lbp2 can sell atleast 2 Million
Sony should be happy about these numbers
and MM has less than 50 employees http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Molecule

It was definitely a wise decision for Sony to buy Media Molecule. Uniqueness is an important aspect when someone is deciding what kind of product their looking for. Media Molecule definitely is one of the most unique game developers this generation.

I would love to be in a Brain Storm meeting in Media molecule! So much creativity over there!

Though I agree with you guys, and believe MM is an outstanding developer, I don't know if they're credit is fully deserved when it comes to "uniqueness." If I remember right, MM came to Sony for funding and what not with just a very simple platforming game in the very early stages of development. Only with heavy encouragement from one of the Sony higher-ups (I forget who it was, and actually I forget where I read this information at) did they do the "Create" and "Share" part of the game. So, while props to MM for making the LBP world an incredible experience, I think a lot of the ideas came from Sony. But, since I don't have a source and can't remember where I read this, take this with a grain of salt.
