Forums - Sales - Rock Band under 100k?

Did they just not make enough?  This game is sold out in most places especially on the 360.  Did they just make less because of the high price point?  Should have good legs though as my local gamespot said they sold out and what ever is coming in is going to pre-orders which haven't been met.  Also I have the game without the bundle as I have a guitar hero 2 guitar and bought the mic for $30 is the game alone being counted?

sold out all around town here....

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

There is an abundance around where I live. Entire Jenga stacked displays in Walmart and a pallet in Meijer.

The game is an expensive challenger to the wildly popular Guitar Hero in the wake of perhaps the most successful Guitar Hero game yet.

Even if the game is phenomenal, the Peripherals are not exactly the immersive experience everyone was hoping for, and the price tag makes any potential consumer... think twice.

Taking all that into consideration, the game did phenomenally if you think about it.

I think they underestimated demand because they thought the steep price might scare people away.

Fools!

sold out? are you kidding... i was at local best buy around 8:00pm last friday and they had about 50 Rock Bands sitting there in pretty much in the center of the store.

but yeah, it should have massive legs. it won't sell as many as GH but it would do decently.

the Wii is an epidemic.

I think it might be a matter of store space too. The game is huge (physically) and stores only have so much shelf room and storage room. With an unproven IP like this at a high $$ I doubt stores wanted too many on hand sucking up precious space.

Every store I've been to has been carrying more copies of Rockband than any game in a display case.

Has it only been released in the U.S. at this point in time?

Definitely not sold out in Indianapolis. Best Buy had a tree of them stacked 6 feet high, Walmart had a full case, and EB Games had 3 or 4 behind the counter. Link's Crossbow Training on the other hand was a bitch to find. I went to 3 stores (EB Games being the last) and the freaking EB Games charged me $25 instead of $20. I was pissed, but I really wanted the game so I paid it.

We have about 40 of these in my Gamestop and the game hardly sold well. It does seem to be sold out at a few online retailers though, I wonder how many they shipped out to them, because they shipped too many to most stores around here.
