Nice to see some more people here interested in 3D! What kind of system are you running the emulator at? And is enabling the 3D only heavy on the videocard or does the cpu take a hit aswell?

I am running Ahtlon X4 940...and GTX295 video card. I dont see any issues with the emulator.

Infact I am getting over 200 frames per second with 3D enabled. I just need 60 to run this smoothly so I've not seen any slowdown. Ive heard that 3 ghz single core CPU is enough to run the emulator without 3D. If you want 3D then you'd need similar specs as most other current games.

That's awesome but what is your definition of "99% perfect 3D"? One bottom layer with the background and one layer with the characters and mobs on top = 3-D?

Well the below video shows the Sonic 2 emulation. There are few minor sound glitches and hickups but graphics are perfect.

You need the glasses and appropriate TV to see it in 3D but the quality and depth I am getting is on par with 3D of current gen games like REsident Evil 5 and Metro 2033 running in 3D. So we're talking really good... PS3 will be golden if it can achieve this kind of 3D effects.

Oh, I imagined a side scroller. I've heard of such problems, that there's two or three distinguishable "layers", sometimes more, that creates the 3-D effect. Bad 3-D.

Anyway, I trust your eyes. What other games are u gonna try in the future? Emulated games that work in 3-D.

Ima look to replay a few of the best 3D games on the dreamcast. So powerstone, Resident evil code veronica, ikaruga, Shenmue 2...etc

NullDC is a godsend. I don't have 3D, but I love to be able to save my DC for the few titles that actually require the real HW.

As for the comments earlier about other systems. PS1, N64 and Saturn emulation are pretty much perfected too, not in 3D though. I only use my real Saturn for light-gun titles these days. PS2 is hit or miss as is GC. The Xbox on the other hand seems to have zero interest from the emu community, which is surprising considering it's PC like HW.

Silent Hill 1 on PS1 in 1080p look surprisingly good, and Conker's Bad Fur Day looks as good as a many GameCube game. With the right plug-ins and a decent GPU you can re-live those titles the way that they should have looked.

The Wii emu's are looking great thus far too, and things will only get better.

Sounds good, love playing emu's especially N64, sometimes my 360 controller is hooked up more to my PC than the Xbox.

@ disolitude:

You seem to know quite alot about 3D gaming. What do you think the ods are for a current 3D screen/projector to work with the PS3's 3D in the future? Was looking at a 3D Projector recently but it hade HDMI 1.3 and i fear it won't work with the PS3. Not sure what sort of screen you use for 3D right now?

I use a 67 inch samsung DLP and I have a 22 inch Viewsonic 3D 120 hz monitor(as well as a 50 inchs samsung plasma in the bedroom that does 3D in checkerboard or side by side formats but only at 1366x768).  DLP is by far the best of the bunch...so I sure hope PS3 will support the checkerboad DLP formats.

There really have been no concrete announcements made by sony as of yet...

For 3D bluray movies I am not worried as PowerDVD10 will have a 3D add on that supports 3D blurays in checkerboard on the PC using regual bluray drives.

Plus mitsubishi announced that they are coming out with an add on which will make 3D blurays work on all DLPs...called mitsubishi 3dc-1000. That will work on all DLP tech. So you could use that with the PS3...

As far as gaming, I think there is 50/50 chance it will work with DLP. Game divers are key...

If it does, I have a feeling Sony will not say a word about it, or support it in any way. They want you to buy a new 3000 bravia, not a 1000 dollar DLP projector that is bigger and looks as good if not better... :)

Updated with list of games I tested with this emulator...

If you get the right plug-in set-up Tony Hawk 2 works flawlessly. Of course now I can't remember what that set-up is. I'll report back if I figure it out again.

I am running it with the Nvidia 3D graphix plug in. Thats the only one I can use as otherwise I may as well play dreamcast :)

When using that plug in, a lot of the polygons are dissapearing/appearing as well as textures. Its still perfectly playable.

Im more concerned about Shenmue 2...which visually works flawlessly but has severe music issues. I'll have to diddle some plug ins...

Wow that game runs great and my PC owns that! I tried running this Emu years ago, it has definitely improved drastically.
