Forums - Sales - So, imports aren't relevant to total sales?

I mean, look at GOW collection sales. Even US having the game 6 months before EU, and the US edition being avalelible since release in many big EU websites and stores the EU edition was able to reach 100k FW.

And Demon's Souls, the game was avalaible in english for many time in Asia before the US release and it still had a pretty good numbers with US edition. And now in EU it can sell well even being so easy importing games for PS3.

If you mean that not many people import games then yes, they are not relevant. Even the most imported games are probably only a few 1000 copies tops.

when you mean importing games to the ps3 did you mean making games in EU languages..... this sentence doesn't really make much sense to me at all

Um I'm confused with what your asking

but imports would be counted. Like if I bought a japanese final fantasy it would count as a sale towards japan. Unless it was used then it's like a used game

I know that EU languages can push sales a lot. I mean by importing is you in EU buying  an US game. But, many games are released just in english in EU and even than they sell well.

The majority of the world's population only speaks one language fluently. Even if you speak another language reasonably well, you will still prefer to play games in your native tongue. The only significant sources of importation are the UK, Australia and New Zealand

Remember importing from US/Canada is costly experience.

Using Gow collection as example to import it from Canada to Poland after release would cost 47,5 candian bucks totaling around 140 pln

By using inside EU import options i have i can buy it for 80 PLN.

Importing Demon's souls would be 77,5 canadian $ and 220-230 PLN buying European version will be 160-170 PLN

So in reality import from US/Canada is last resort chance for games which won't come our in EU.

was much more comon during SNES days... (I had a US snes even :p, though I imported myself not through a store, same for the games))

then again, there are a ton of games now, and most games release to EU. (so many gems didn't arrive here in those days... for PS1.... you could play import... in black and white!... ergheizt, parasite eve and brave fenser musashi were still good games even without colors!).

Haha, I remember the days when NTSC stood for Not The Same Colours.
