Forums - Gaming - NMH on HD consoles underperforms compared to the Wii version

Ok first of all, combining ps3 and X360 is stupid. 2 different platforms. You don't see people combining Wii + Ds right?

Second, come on. Those are terrible sales for the game in general. On the wii, the ps3 and the x360. Period.

Again with this?

The HD systems have a higher userbase when no more heros was released. The wii only had 4 million so you can't say it was the userbase diffrence. Than we have the port that is superior than the wii version. One is uncesored and both have extras. So it was worth the wait. The port excuse it stupid. Why would that be a excuse on why the game didn't sell? Do random people on the streets hate ports? Last time I check no. So if anything HD versions did worse than wii. Also even if you combine them its still not a big enough diffrence for people to say this game should stay on the HD systems. Though if I remeber the wii version is uncesored and subtitled while the HD versions are not

My thoughts

Yep, pretty much this.

But the uncesored and subtitled version I think it is the 360 one.

Your first point couldn't be more correct sir.

Your second point, couldn't be more accurate too. Thing is, sales are more terrible in any HD platform than on the Wii.

Well, yeah. You can argue that the wii version sold more, but not enough to really make a difference. But yeah, the wii version sold more at the end

This proves my point that this game wouldn't sell better in any HD console due to the watered down controls, despite of the graphical treatment.

From now on, sales for each platform shall differ even more since it is a known fact that Wii software usually has more legs than the HD consoles.

This should be enough to stop the wrong discussion that went a few weeks ago about PS3 or 360 being more appropriate to sell a franchise like no more heroes, which they aren't.

Actually this doesn't prove your point in anyway... When has a game released so long after the original ever heavily outsold the original?   The fact that the HD wins are even selling so close to the Wii version would seem to prove the opposite of your point. Also, the controls were improved, not watered down.

All I see is evidence that the title should have be multi from the start.

Assuming that releasing day and date the sales would have been the same the evidence there indicates that by being exclusive to Wii initially the title dropped approx 60% of it's potential sales.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Your first point is so flawed but whatever.

And yes NMH underperformed in Japan.

Omg. I mean OMG, why are people still using userbases in favor of the HD consoles in this case? Wii has 10 million systems sold in Japan as of NOW (minus a couple of months...), don't tell me the Wii userbase was the same 2 years ago, or did the Wii sell nada for the last years!?

That the OP is lacking some facts doesn't mean it's ok to respond in the same factless manner -_-

Now I'm off to grab some boobies in Sakura Wars.

I wouldn't even bother trying. Despite the information showing in plain view that the Wii version of NMH performed similar to the HD versions, if not slightly BETTER, the HD fans will refuse to believe that the GAME itself is the reason for its failure, rather than the Wii. In their world, they need the Wii to remain the console that cannot sell core games of the poor 3rd party visionaries, while the HD saviors do.

If they don't have this, they will have nothing to bash the Wii on.

#1. It is releasing MUCH later.

#2. It sells for $10 more, so in the end it could very well be
performing better.
