Forums - Microsoft - Has 10 million sold in America reached mass market level?

Cause the 360 is about to hit it in the next few weeks at this rate.

Miami has 10 million people..

I dont understand the question - for certain 360 is a msaa market product. Or does it cater to an exclusive market segment like a Porsche?

To me mass market is 10% of the country population.

That means you mean 30 million+ in today's America.

The Population of the United States is 301,139,947 according to the CIA World Factbook as of July of this year. So 10 million sold isn't really mass market level in the United States I think anyway.

It will be mass market when the price hits $200

@TheSource - Going with your definition it's possible that this time no one of the three contestants will reach this goal.A relatively balance of marketshare is more likely.

I think we cannot consider mass market for a single console here since they are in competition with each other. I think we have to consider mass market for the whole console gaming industry.

I mean how many out there are gonna buy all three systems or even PS3 + Xbox 360. Wii + another system maybe but that's going to be small.

eugene u are the Xbox360 side of Soriku lol
