Midwestern Wal-mart competitor Meijer has broken the Alan Wake street date and started selling copies of the game early, according to reports from Xbox Live user Buzzsawgr81.

will this have any impact on VGC first week numbers?

Depends how wide spread this gets, it probably won't affect it as much as a botched launch like LBP's but it could make the first week look less impressive than it otherwise would have been.

a lot of games get their street dates broken to boost the "first week sales" like how MGS4 was released 4 weeks ago before actual date in here.
