I've been thinking if the release of a black Wii in the US as well as SMG 2 will revitalize the Wii to the same past levels where the console could outsell both HD machines combined.

I think that for May and June that's a safe bet. After June and the E3 presentation we shall see if vitality sensor, Zelda, last story, bla bla, will keep Nintendo momentum high.

After Zelda Wii is anounced (with an official in-game trailer), the hype is gonna be unbearable and no game is gonna top Zelda Wii's anticipation
Zelda > all HD console franchises

Well, the Black Wii finally releasing in US and SMG2 should do quite a bit of good for the Wii's sales - Zelda Wii will as well, when it releases (which I don't expect to happen this year), but not right after it's E3 showing

Some weeks it should be able to make it, but I don't think it will consistently outsell PS3 and 360 combined for several month.

What? There are plenty of HD franchises that consistently sell better than Zelda.

Uhhh... well if you're a Nintendo fan I guess that's a great line up.

But it hardly appeals to the HD audience. Therefore its not better than HD, but Nintendo fans should be happy.

Black bundle with new high profile games... high chance.

Yeah, the line up is very appealing for Nintendo fans as well for double owners, and I know some HD-only people that will jump ship for Zelda and Mario Galaxy 2  =)

You should see if there's a bunch of Wii games that appeal to you, the Wii Sports Resort bundle is great value.

Kinda shows how far the Wii has "fallen."

Granted it's still the fastest selling console ever and passing up the PS2.

Or maybe it has to do with the PS3's rise.

If you own all 3 systems... having Wii at ~50%, and the PS3/360 at ~25% a piece I believe is the best balance you can ask for.

It will be interesting.
