If you get blackouts with your monitor while the computer seems to keep running. It means the video card kicked in and shuts itself off w/o toasting it.

That is when you really need a better case with more airflow.

actually thats happened to me twice in my 8 months with this set up. thanks for the advice.

HD 4350 cards tend to be passively cooled. So whilst your airflow may not be good enough for a passively cooled card, this doesn't reflect on your cases ability to support an actively fan cooled card, especially one which exhausts out the back of the case.

Tease.

you mean blackouts as screen flickering 3 secs? or as a 2 min blackout?

Blackout as in, the monitor suddenly stopped getting signal. Most monitor have the default message jumping around the screen with message saying no signal. The computer itself would still run where you have no choice but to reset it.

In that case then if your system has a full size computer case you ought to get an HD 5670 if your budget supports it.

good not my case then.... I get flicker only, I guess it's the 3D resetting or something. Screen pops black then game comes back in 2D, then 3D (all that in 5-6 seconds), happened like 5 times over the last 50 hours of gaming. (thanks for the answer)

Sounds like you're not feeding it enough juice or a loose cable.

Try replacing the cable. If that doesn't work, try asking at the computer shop. The tech there should know better since they work with repairs everyday.

5970 all the way , dual gpu 2gb ddr5 ram, 5 tflops baby!!! nothing touches this card right now

got an 750W 80+Bronze for the juice and it's a SLI GT260s oced at 680Mhz (manufacturer oc settings).

I do get a blue screen with an nvidia driver as the cause from time to time... researched it and they said there was no workarround...(though strangely didn't get it since that black screen thing appeared :p).

I'll check the cable cause it's true that the cards fit only by a hair in the box and this was not really the first month I used the comp.
