The story doesn't take any risks and shows only tiny hints at the darkness of the human nature.
It's a bit "refreshing" or at least not bog standard to portray the humans as aggressors/invaders, but to compensate for that they made a human the big hero + happy end to make it a movie "for everyone".

So in my opinion it's a 5/10 movie with fine 3D eye candy.

We are talking about modern American film here. We only touch on that, you have to dig for movies like that. They come out once in a blue moon, but they are few and far between.

It's a real damn shame imo, I much prefer darker stories.

I've never seen it in 3D. The movie was OK, but no where near as good as I thought it would be.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Hmm maybe I will see it in 3D when it is re-released in theatres. Should be cheaper then.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

It was a decent movie with excellent visual effects...that's about it. It isn't the greatest movie all time like the commercials say it is. It's just another movie that had a large amount of hype.

Beyond the visual effects it's actually forgettable in every way.  In a few years even the visual effects will be utterly forgettable.

The thing is you don't see the humans as evil, you see the corporations, or the man, as evil.  In that sense, it's exactly like every other movie.  The fact that people rate it as high as they do for the 3D or say you should only watch it in 3D shows you how not-good of a movie it is.

Of course, Avatar is a horribly written movie. It's visuals are the only thing worth crying about.

I think the world itself adds a lot to the movie. You care about Pandora because of how real it feels. A lot of that is lost if you're not watching it on a 40ft screen in 3D. Anything less makes it feel like you're looking through a window rather than standing right behind the scene.

Which is always funny because corporations are nothing but collections of men.  The good and evil they do is reflective of the people that own the stock and people as a whole.

SO instead of spending my money on a Blu-ray purchase, i should have seen it at the pictures, and pocketed the difference.

That's because it wasn't trying to say humans are evil.  If a movie is supposed to be condemning colonialism, it doesn't make much sense to condem humans as a whole, does it?  Also, why do people refuse to consider that 3D might add something to the movie beyond the prettiness?
