Forums - Sony - Looks like Konami isn't going to release MGS4's substance anymore.

MGS2 released 11/12/01, Substance released 12/19/02 - give or take one year in between.

MGS3 released 12/16/04, Subsistence released 12/22/05 - give or take one year in between.

MGS4 released 06/12/08, and almost two years later, still no announcement of a "substance".

Sad.. I was really looking forward to a re-release.

Leave the best game ever alone!

Its perfect as it is....why would Kojima change something perfect?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Does it really matter ?

what could we expect from a rerelease ?

Time to Work !

there's no such thing as a perfect game. i loved mgs3 to death, and i felt that was truly the most amazing game i've ever played at the time.

but after i played subsistence, i realized that there were a bunch of flaws in the original that were perfected by the re-release (camera angle ftw).

so there's always room for improvement somewhere.

I really want to play MGS4 to see what all the fuss is about! Konami dont make me buy another bloody console! >.<

Trophies!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Kojima pretty much maxed out the blu-ray, that's why there's no superior version.

Oh there's alot more that can be done with a substance release.

- More enemies, or different enemy layouts, which would require smarter use of your gadgets and surroundings.

- A VR game similar to MGS1 and MGS2.

- Fixing of numerous technical blunders in MGO, as well as new maps. Maybe, also include the ability to record, like in Uncharted 2, to catch cheaters and submit them.

-Trophy support.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

its because they can patch the game instead of tweaking it and re-release it again.

but Capcom doesn't know this exist.

why would they patch it if they can re-release and make more money? a patch is free and doesn't make them anything. a re-release generates excitement about a new title and will give them sales.
