Good for Kojima, good thing I will never buy another MGS game, at least not new. I don't want a single cent going to the man that ruined my favorite game by making a long string of terrible sequels, each time tricking me into thinking that it was a great game.

Haven't played it yet as i don't speak Japanese but hopefully we get a GAME this time and not an interactive movie.

I don't hate MGS4, its just sad to see a such a epic series have such a mediocre game as its final part. I know MGS1, 2 and 3 where pretty much a movie too, but they made up for it with superior gameplay, both MGS 1 and 2 pretty much made the 3D stealth genre and MGS3 took it to new heights. MGS4 has been surpassed by many games even freaking Batman AA has better stealth than MGS4.

Don't try to downplay this. No one expected it.

Probably because no one thought about it logically. I never really gave it any thought prior to now so I had no specific expectations. But if you applied some rationality to it you probably would expect Peace Walker to do as well or better on day 1 than MGS4. It's an iconic franchise associated with the Playstation brand and it's the first MGS entry on PSP. There's gotta be plenty of cross ownership between PS2 MGS fans and PSP and PS3 MGS4 owners. etc etc.

It's definitely not the first Metal Gear game on the PSP. Maybe if you're talking mainline game (as all the other mainline games were on consoles), but there has been Metal Gear Acid, Metal Gear Acid 2, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus before this recent Peace Walker release.

In Japan?  GT PSP bombed (like 200k sold), while there've been a bunch of games that sold more since (Kingdom Hearts BBS, God Eater, Gundam Vs Next+, Phantasy Star Portable 2, etc).  I do think Peace Walker can outsell all of them though.
