Ah, 36/40 is much better. If they're knocking the score for lip-syncing, and not a whole lot else, I'd rather not care (this is good since I'll be playing the game in english).

MrStickball, me too. I am right at the end of Blue Dragon but Mass Effect has owned me for the last week. I'll finish Blue Dragon after I beat my Mass Effect. I don't know when I will finish Eternal Sonata. Unlike most people I know, I prefer BD to ES by far.
What about 20-25h of main gameplay story? =))

of pure absolute gameplay if you rush your ass of possibly crazy that does NOT include all the cutscenes or anything adding in most likely another ten hours 35 hours in rush mode is not short for a jrpg, you can do FF 9 in 11 hours if you want.
BTW sakaguchi said BD was around 40 hours, ive heard of numerous players going easily 60 hours into it.
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Blue Dragon certainly isn't 60 hours unless you go out of your way to do all the side stuff.
doing all the side stuff/side quests is counted in the game.
No different then FF 12 could have almost 120 hours with all its side quests
