2.5 millon is too much to ask of the 360 in Japan. Moving 2500-3000 units on average through the year, it'll take many, many years to reach that number. The next gen will have rolled around and the 360 will have been discontinued in Japan long before 2.5 million units are sold.

what about monster hunter fronteir console exclusive and the other 3 exclusive titles do u think these will help over in the rising sun or be the same trend that it been having

Depends on the exclusives.  I can see MHFO giving 360 a small bump, and unlike the previous MMO 360 releases (FFXI, PSU) there was no PS2 version, so I think we'll see decent enough sales for the game itself.

That said, 2.5m would be literally doubling the current 360 base, and honestly I think that's just an impossibility for all the systems this gen at this point (ie: PS3 @ 10m, Wii @ 20m, PSP @ 28m, DS @ 60m).  I think 360 will probably wind up between 1.6-2m total, which is still a HUGE step up from Xbox 1.

2m best case scenario for 7 years console (at that time)and it has struggled a lot lately but sales are sub 2k we don 't know whether the numbers will go up or down but the thing is jp won 't accept xbox even with this so jrpg system thing

Monster Hunter Frontier is a PC game available since 2007.

With the X360 userbase in Japan, a new Monster Hunter game on the Wii and many iterations on PSP, I really doubt that MHF will do anything to help Xbox selling more.

At best, the game can sell like 100K and give 360 a little boost...

I agree, but I would put the best case scenario higher (200k).  With the 360 release, it's now becoming the priority platform (meaning first release) for new content, which will likely bring a lot of PC fans over.  There's also 360 exclusive content planned.  Also, PCs are still pretty rare in Japan, most people play MHF in cafes or at work/school, so I can see some players wanting to invest in a 360+MHFO for at home.  For reference there's already 500k MHF players in Japan alone (Asia likely adds another 100k-ish).

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if MHFO beat out BB/TOV/SO4 and became 360's best selling game ever.

Natal can be only savior for 360!

IT'S TIME FOR SHENMUE III, SEGA!

i do agree with you on your reply jarrod ........ microsoft did say that they got some surprises in store for in japan like the new ads that showed mhfo and the three others unnanouced titles and natal and microsoft did say they plan on having the 360 a 10 year plan and a day more then the ps3 so that why i think 2.5 million is a resonable number which it being goin on the 5th year of the console
