Shift made it actually.  They became famous for making Xai (aka: Devil Dice / Bombastic) and Intelligent Qube for Sony.

 

I figured Kensax would do awful, but even this is surprisingly bad imo.  Did Nintendo not advertise it at all?

It's now clear that Japan saw Portable Ops as a spin-off and Peace Walker as a main-entry.

Great job Kojima!

SSFIV did okay on the PS3.

Well, it's MGS5 in basically all but name.  And KojiPro PR even leaked that it was going to be in name too originally.

Also, MoHun might've helped. <3 <3

Not too mention the 40/40 review from Famitsu.

Anyway, pretty good sellthrough by SSFIV. Both the 360/PS3 versions sold about 60-70% for both the Standard/Collector Edition versions. The numbers should probably continue to be solid. I picked up a copy of the Collector's Edition for the 360 from Amazon JP.

Excellent opening for DQM:J2 as well. I'll probably pick up a copy of this for my gf sometime in May. She's busy with other games at the moment.

Nice sales for Monsters: Joker 2, it is going to be the 32th million seller on NDS.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has a high chance to become the first non Monster Hunter million seller game on PSP, it will have to sell around 550k units on its first week and develop some legs.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy ----- 503.723 / 902.398
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII ----- 470.152 / 809.825
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep --- 456.453 / 720.470

I'm so happy when a non advertised Nintendo shovelware game bombs ^^

Peace Walker has a good shot at imo.  Of course, I thought the same about BBS and God Eater, and both ended up fizzling well short. :/

 

At least it should outsell MGS4, and may even match the series highpoint (MGS3).  That alone's quite an achievement for Kojima at home.

Ha! I had like 4 people saying Conviction was going to do <2k in Japan first week. I said ~20k. I say ha!
