Well the 360 PS3 worldwide gap has got back to 30k.

Meaning once again Japan is the difference.

Now on the contrary to what some have said above in terms of releases for the PS3 they are no-longer system sellers. Most are sequels to games already out this gen or games that have no info about them at all. For example people claiming Last Guardian will be huge because it was made by the people who brought us Shadow of the Colossus. There is a problem with that theory. Shadow of the Colossus didn't even sell 1m copies with over 120m consoles to sell to. What is even worse is that it only sold 200k in Japan....That game will not drive sales.
The only games that drives sales are massive franchise titles. The only true one left for PS3 is Gran Turismo 5. That is the monster game.

Question is what makes you think it will be out this year? It has seen delay after delay. Remember the Japanese release date was moved from the start of this year to may. Well May is tomorrow, no release date. The game is done when it is done, a policy i agree with. I would bet anything you will see GT5 released in the last quarter of this year, around 6 months away.

In that 6 months what else will PS3 have to stimulate sales? Move? Those polls shown on here suggested that only 15% of people asked were interested in it.

I expect the PS3 numbers to fall to around 20k next week and then after that start to drop into the 10k mark by this time next month. Because that is exactly what happened last year and the same trend is happening again. With fewer titles now to release until the holidays you have to expect the numbers to start dropping.

Which makes the worldwide gap become less and less.

At this rate by june 1st 2010 the worldwide gap between PS3 and 360 will be neck and neck. We will then have a battle at E3 to determine who will sell more beyond that point. With MS having an obvious price cut coming because of the healthy profits they are making on the 360 plus Natal and maybe a new model you have to argue that Sony will have to match it. The only way they can do that is a further price cut. With them losing money on each PS3 that is unlikely to happen.

So on contrary to the people above, the PS3's numbers are the ones on the decline and now once again is relying on Japan to keep the worldwide gap above 360. And the numbers in Japan will tumble rapidly, such is how it has been there over the last few years.

LIVE YOUR dream because the gap PS3>360 IS BIGGER THEN THE GAP 360>PS3 IN AMERICA so even if you want japan to dissappear ps3 will have the upper hand and without japan come to think the problems in distrubution in america ps3 would be 50k above 360 and that how the situation will continue until fall 2010 for sure

Sorry i am not quite sure i understand what you mean?

What has this got to do with dreams?

You fail to mention that the gap between the 360 and PS3 in america is growing. The gap between the PS3 and 360 in others is decreasing. And the PS3 sales in Japan are decreasing. Meaning the gap is decreasing between the two consoles. That is reality, not dreams....

You talk like it is my fault or something that the gap is closing...

@ Hyruken

So you are saying that Japan is what is keeping PS3 ahead worlwide? That is because of the way you look at it. Could we not say that NA is keeping it close for Xbox because it is losing everywhere else. It just depends on the way you look at it. In the end, the PS3 is ahead every week regardless of your regional filtering. We could also say Xbox is relying on NA to stay alive.

microsoft can forget about exclusive dlc or natal to help them out here. the 360 needs another price cut to compete with the ps3 even though its already cheaper.
