Report - Call of Duty: Vietnam Confirmed

Next title from Treyarch switches up locations

April 29, 2010 - According to a report from VentureBeat, the next Call of Duty title developed by Treyarch will be set in the Vietnam era. Persistent rumors over the past year suggested the game, set for release in 2010, has shifted away from the traditional World War II setting.

The report claims the game is titled Call of Duty: Vietnam; however than might not exactly be the final name as we have yet to see a game in the series with its location in the title.

"Tomorrow you will see a teaser for this year's Call of Duty game," said Thomas Tippl, chief operating officer of Activision Publishing, in the report. "Treyarch is working on it and taking the Call of Duty franchise to the next level."

Activision declined to comment on the report. The teaser trailer is set for debut on Friday at 12:40 AM EST on Spike TV.

Yay!

*crickets*

Treyarch? Oh man... WaW was utter shit imo. Then again, IW aren't much better grinding the same stone over again either with the disappointing MW2.
There are few good games set in this conflict though so there is hope and potential yet, the only decent one I ever played was Vietcong.

You should try Battlefield: Vietnam. No singleplayer, but the great Battlefield multiplayer formula.

Woo hoo!

Nowhere does IGN's source cite a concrete source for the report. They're just using a rumor to base themselves upon - should it be really CONFIRMED tomorrow on GTTV as something else, they're gonna suffer a pretty big credibility hit.

I'd hardly call this a confirmation. We'll have to wait till tomorrow night to find out for sure.

Nothin's is over

Nothin.......

Sweet! I'm glad its Vietnam and not that weird special ops/black ops (whatever it was called) rumour!

I'm actually somewhat excited for this! Even though Treyarch isn't as good as IW, at least Treyarch cares about the community and releases patches for its game when they know there are problems. Once IW releases a game its like they forget about it completely.

You think the Americans will be smoking reefer out of their guns as a perk that increases courge and causes uncontrolled laughter!?
