Forums - Nintendo - A little late to the Resident Evil scene

I think i am the only one who hated this game.

Damn, i remember when i played the resident evils in the playstation 1 and i was always tense, with few bullets and many zombies and constant scares ( i was way younger, but aniway...). Then i play RE4 and find a damn action game, without a single scary thing (gory =/= scary), with a crappy boss and crappy ending, my expectatives to RE5 are low now.

Just to let you know RE4 is WAY different than 0-3 and Code Veronica. If you want to go old school 2 is the best liked, though I dont know if I like 1 2 or 3 better.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

RE:UC only covers 0, 1 and 3 because there is a continuity break with RE2. By the time Leon and Claire start RE2, Chris Redfield has gone off to Europe somewhere... so a bit of time has passed.

RE:UC covers the S.T.A.R.S team that Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Wesker are part of, so everything stays firmly within the Raccoon City timeline before Leon and Claire arrive.

Also, since Chris and Jill are BFF's (if not BF and GF) here's hoping to see Jill in RE5 much the same way we get Ada in each of Leon's affairs.  Still, I'd much rather see Claire than Jill anyday.

Doesn't it cover afterward as well?

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

Yes, it does... which is RE3's "escape from the city" but it still focuses on Jill who's been present since the beginning. I don't think Capcom wanted to suddenly have you control Leon or Claire midpoint in the game when everything has been about STARS previously. Anyway, that's just my opinion, nothing proven or factual.

I loved RE4's new control scheme, but I hated the atmosphere/setting. I didn't get that sheer sense of dread like I did out from past RE games, and it just didn't feel all that RE-ish to me.

I wish they would make a new game in the vein of 0-3, but make the controls more like 4. The only problems I had with the older ones was the "tank" controls. I never even finished REmake simply because I didn't feel like trekking my ass back across the mansion trying to find the battery for the elevator, especially with all the super zombies roaming around since I didn't have enough lighter fluid to burn their heads off.

But man, the older REs rocked. Wandering around an abandoned building in RE3, never knowing when Nemesis is gonna pop out and stick a tentacle through your head, lol. Good times.

RE4 was also my first experience in the RE universe, and was by far one of the best single player experience's I have had. The controls, story and graphics( slightly dated but still impressive) were brilliant. When RE:UC is released down under on December 13th I wil most definately be getting it.

Owner of Wii, DS and 360, planning on getting a PS3 when it's cheaper. Supporter of all consoles.

Oh damn, I guess Resident Evil 4 was my first "real" experience in the RE universe as well. My friend used to play Resident Evil 3 at my house and he showed me pretty much everything about the game. I thought it was ordinary at first and I've heard about RE 4 a couple of years later. I didn't even bother to check a single review at that time... And then that same friend got RE 4. He showed me a bunch of parts from the game. It interested me more and more, but I never really got the chance to try it myself, alone, late at night.

A couple of weeks ago (for my birthday!), I discovered what made RE 4 a masterpiece, and I clearly understand why it's considered one of the best games ever. The story, the new gameplay and camera system is definitely what makes the game shine. Sure, I've noticed that they've removed some of the little item puzzles that were there in every other RE games, but I guess it's to make up for the fact that it has become more like an action game than a survival horror game.

I've been a fan of the series ever since I've got my hands on this game. I've played every other RE games out there that I've missed and I'm glad I finally got into the series! I'll be getting Umbrella Chronicles soon that's for sure.

I'll certainly be waiting for Resident Evil 5 to come out for the Wii...! =P

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
