If Amazon got the game here on launch day and didn't charge for it. I would so order from them all the time.

I will only buy games from Gamestop on launch day, otherwise you face getting a used game when you purchase new ones. They are a crap company honestly.

Amazon.com has Release Date Delivery. So you can get stuff Day 1 from Amazon.

For Canadians, Amazon.ca doesn't have release date delivery though. You gotta wait an extra day or two to get it.

Seeing as how the TC is from Canada, his best option would be to go to that Futureshop to get the limited edition if he wants it Day 1. Especially when the Game Stop exclusive stuff for Alan Wake seems to suck (a free avatar item and a free theme I think) anyway.

If it was free I would so buy from them. :D

The policy actually makes perfect sense, especially for anyone who has ever worked retail. And like mentioned before, if you want to be able to modify your pre-orders from home, do them online.

Yeah I think the release date shipping is like $5.98 or something like that right? That sucks. Honestly though it's not a big deal if you have to wait an extra day or two for free shipping. Normally when I get stuff from Amazon, I get it in the mail box the day after Amazon ships it out. Sometimes two days after.

Suppose I call them and say that I'm you. I can tell them to change your order from Alan Wake to Barbie Horse Adventure 2011. Would you ask them why they changed that order? Maybe if they had a policy in place where someone had to come in person and show some form of ID........

I bought a used copy of Tomb Raider Underworld from Gamestop last Sunday. My girlfriend took my scratched up copy of the game back and swapped it for a brand new copy. So, I had two copies of Tomb Raider Underworld. She then took one of those copies and got me $19 store credit, despite the fact that I only payed $16 for the game (it was on sale).

I replaced my scratched copy AND I got almost $20 to use towards my purchase of Super Street Fighter 4, tomorrow. I have no qualms with Gamestop.

That I can understand, I am still getting the same game, just a different SKU...

And they wouldn't change the order to Barbie Horse Adventure '11, as I already have that preordered as well

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

i used to get games at gamestop, but i stopped getting games from them in feb this year. i now get my games from amazon and my friends store only.

Really irritates me how you buy a game from them that is "new." But it has a used case with most of the time a scratched disk. and a nice little new sticker on it.

When you tell the employee they act stupid and say "But it says NEW on it"!

That's when I tell them I want my money back. :D

The last 5 times I pre-ordered something at GameStop, they either messed it up, it came multiple days after the launch date due to their 'shippers' or they didn't even give me the promotional item they promised when they tried to get me to pre-order the game.

I haven't pre-ordered a game from Game Stop since New Super Mario Bros came out and I'm not going to ever again. The bottom line is, pre-ordering a game from Game Stop is the same as just saying you want a pre-opened game that comes a few days later that costs more.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

What you are saying there makes no sense. I just bought LBP:GOTY new from gamestop. I hope you realize they do sell new games alongside used ones and don't advertise new when it's used.
