Forums - Nintendo - How would you increase VC/WiiWare sales?

Slightly cheaper. Continue and expand upon the demos that they had late last year.

Have days once a month where a couple of games go on special, 100-200 points, with messages to remind people. It will get people on the channel.

Give a free 500 points to anyone who registers their birthday, they could combine this with emails to people on your friend list, suggesting that a game might make a good gift. Basically try and get game gifting on a roll.

Make points available in more increments than they are currently available. I don't know how many times i've ended up with 2/3/400 points, I would have bought another game right there and then if I could top up to 500 points without having to buy more points than I wanted.

The gifting is a very smart idea, and I think you're right, they really should highlight and push it. I have gifted a couple of games before and my friends were very happy to receive them. It also introduced them to the system, which was helpful.

I also agree that Wii points should be able to be purchased in more than just 1000 and 2000 increments. The leftover point balances are frustrating.

Package a few of the top WiiWare games into a retail disk for a good price. Make sure to include where they come from and step by step on how to get more..
Add some free demos

Like "World of Goo", "Tetris Party"/"Dr. Mario", and LostWinds I for $19.99? That would be a fun deal.

Bah!

i'd say wii ware needs the same thing psn needs (can't remember about xbla cause it's been so long)....at better system for informing the customer what they are buying.

the small text description does nothing, imo, to assure me of what i'm buying. what sells me on wiiware/psn games is gametrailers. if it doesn't show up there i won't buy cause otherwise i'm too uncertain of the product.

trailers and customer reviews i consider a must, demos would be a huge plus.

Tetris Party's already getting an expanded retail release.

I bet Sonic 4 gets one also (all "Episodes" on 1 disc).

A Sonic Collection lik e that would be cool. My roommate loved the classic 8-bit Sonic games. He'd definitely snap that up.
