Basically I think it would be a great idea to add Microsoft office compatable programs for free to the PS3 and try marketing it as a $299.99 PC that can play blue-rays and some of the most powerful games out there.  Weak PC's already cost as much if not more than a PS3 and all you can do is type and surf the web.   Ofcourse it would be a gaming machine first but if it had these programs I would see no reason to get a desktop in general.

Please state reasons!

just go here:

now all we would need is google to support the ps3 web browser!

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

Sounds kinda pointless to me. Desktops and cheap laptops are far easier to work with and are a lot less finicky. I say keep Word Documents and such on PC's and keep your PS3 for gaming

Long Live SHIO!

Hmm it seems most people would like this... Of course cheap printers would have to become more readily available

I'm sure there are a few online one's you could use.

i don't see it as a dire need, but I have nothing against free utilities that add extra - if not kinda random - functionality.

No point for this user; I have dedicated PCs for mundane tasks like word processing.

I generally don't use the PS3 web browser either although it's good that it's there when data from PSN or games is linked to the web itself.

If they added support for web browser document editors, that would be fine although again, it's not something I'd bother using.
