I've yet to play IX but I've played X and I'll give it a 5/5. No, that's not a perfect game to me but you may round it to be a perfect score if you care.

And why did I give it a 5/5? For several reasons: story, characters, world, music, atmosphere, battle system - pretty much everything that makes FF games great. I also didn't mind linearity, especially since it opens up in the end.

FF9 -- 9.4

At the time it was better than FF8 but still not as good as FF7. A FANTASTIC RPG though, the music is tremendous, the story is quirky & cool, the main character for me was kinda weird after ye know SQUALL & CLOUD this guy was completely different, I guess in a good way. Finally VIVI!!!!

FF10 -- 9.6/10

FF10 was my 2nd best FF ever till FF13 came out, now its 3rd. But MY GOD THIS GAME IS AMAZING.

The start was kinds slow for me but the moment our main cast was going to the ship to leave Lucca and I heard the BATTLE THEME for the first time along with the battle system mechanics wherein you can switch party members during battle I was HOOKED. Then the quick CGi clip & the fight with Kimahri and the awesomsauce continued.

It wasn't perfect though VA's weren't that great, the characters while good didn't completely get to me. I LOVED YUNA though almost in the literal sense at the time, the Tidus-Yuna love story was very well done imho! I hated Lulu, wakka was ok, kimahri looked like a cute doggie but I never used him in battle unless I "had" to, Riku ermm boo. And of course our main character Tidus who has recieved some of the most unjust criticisms from people. Some of the plot twists were excellent, some where by then really cliched.

Seymours whole motive to become sin for me sounded absurd & I didn't like him as a villain much.

But the game is awesome, the gameplay is the 2nd best in the series, soundtrack one of the best, story not one of the best but still great, characters not one of the best but still great and the place as a world is good.

Most of all it had one of the best endings EVER!

I'd give 10 about a 7.

I haven't played 9 yet. Will do when it comes to psn.

OMG I have been waiting for these two for some time now.

Let me start with FF 9, oh the memories I have of this FF. It was the first FF I played(mind you first RPG) and it was a great experience for me, I just loved the characters and the setting it was fantastic and I will never forget it, that's why I have never replayed it ... So I don't ruin my fond memories of it.

So I give FF 9 a 10/10 (totality biased vote here :P)

FF 10 was a good game although I found the story a little to silly I kind of enjoyed it a 8.5/10.
