Forums - General - To my fellow UK/Englanders. We have a 4th option.... Absolute Monarchy.

Now that I actually see the positive side of this idea, I'll consider it serious, and point out some flaws in the system.

-What happens to the NHS?
-What happens to public schooling?

...and actually, that's about it.

That's for us to decide amongst ourselves. I'll do it my way, you do it yours. As long as it doesn't involve stealing money from other people, it's allowed.

your idea scares me.

i'd have to reform the Roundheads and kill off the monarchy (for good this time)

....and how did that work out for everybody?

Oh that's right, Cromwell made himself a monarch and banned Christmas.

I think it worked out quite well actually - it ensured that Parlaiment ruled the country and not an unelected monarch. We didn't get rid of the monachy, the Civil War made sure that it couldn't abuse its power.

It's thanks to Cromwell, the Roundheads and the Civil War that we have a democracy of elected representatives of the people, and not a monarchical dictatorship.

But he was a bit of a loony, to be fair.
