For the first minute or so I thought they were trying to train dogs for pit fighting, on a live victim, which would be bad enough. But that at least would be a REASON.

But then when he's picking the dog up by the tail and swinging it around, slamming it into the ground, beating it with a branch and kicking it ... it's clear that they were doing this just for their own enjoyment. The fact that they would get enjoyment out of brutalizing and torturing a creature to death while it cries in pain and feebly tries to get away from them is incomprehensible to me.

@ slimebeast:
1. I think this sort of thing could happen in the US, although it's probably harder here to get a random stray dog for the victim.
2. KFJM was just saying that to show us that even he, someone who HATES dogs, was disgusted by how cruelly this dog was being treated, as an additional warning of how bad the video was.
3. I don't think it's really appropriate to use this video to talk about immigration and liberals being soft on crime.

1. Rarely. U think the only reason is because the laws are different and that there are less stray dogs in the US? U dont acknowledge any differences between cultures and their view on animals and the value of animals?

2. I got that part, I'm not stupid. But you don't get it. If I would post a video with someone of [insert race or ethnic group here] getting beaten up, and I'd say "I hate [insert race here] with every fiber of my being ...  but this made me shed a tear" right after the video, do you think that would be appropriate?

3. Of course you don't.

1. Slimebeast, look up Micheal Vick, animal abuse is a HUGE problem in the US. It's done by people of every color, every race, every religion.

2. What JKFM was trying to say is, he may hate dogs, but he still understands life has value and anything suffering is horrific. So I find his comment appropriate.

3. Immigration is derailing this thread, it has nothing to do with animal cruelty.

1. Yes it's a huge problem, but your dodging the question.

2. You don't get it. I got that part already. But if it was a woman getting beaten up, could he have used the word "hate"? Do you think that would have been appropriate?

3. I wasnt going into that any further.

1. I said that culture has less to do with it than the laws of said place.

2. Yes, if you hate women and felt bad for a woman who was beaten and killed it would appropriate.

3. If you feel strongly about how about you make a new thread about it, cause if you want that discussion are you free to start it.

I applaud the dog for standing up even when it was badly beaten up.
I really hope this guys (however they are) go to hell.

There are good cultures and there are bad cultures.

This is one reason why I am against immigration.

Yes, US citizens are the saints of the world and they all follow the moral guidelines of society.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I don't want to bring lightness into the thrread. But that was a pretty epic burn.

Assuming you hate a certain ethnic group, do you?

I'm not going to watch it. Any act of animal cruelty is disgusting.

I blame the parents. If your kid is so fucked up he'd do terrible things to animals then there's something wrong with you as well. I go by the belief/thought that people aren't born good or evil but its how they are brought up.

No. When I was in the US, I experienced that Americans treat animals differently than here in Sweden, generally speaking.
(and no, it's not based on just anectodal evidence)

No I don't. But that wasn't the point.

--1.  No, that's not the only reason.  But you made it sound like that sort of thing was commonplace in that culture, while it wouldn't happen in the superior American culture -- or so it seemed to me.  And both parts of that would be inaccurate IMO to say the least.
--2.  The difference, I think, is simply that if it had been someone beating up a woman or a black (or a Mexican!) then his preface would be seen as inappropriate because of his hatred for them -- not because of the preface.
--3.  Even if you weren't going any further, this is not an appropriate soapbox.  It's inflammatory and you know it.
