Forums - General - Women beaten to death as she slept

(Time to reflect)

From age 12to24 I new this women. She was a very good person. If you needed anything and she had it she would give it. She dominated card (games mostly spades) One of the best domino players i ever played against. But? Drugs and alcohol did play a role in her life. And i never judged her. And the only reason I havn't said her name is because I don't know if I can! (Heres what I know) Between Monday 19th and Tuesday night she was beaten and stabbed by her boyfriend as she slept. Yes she was in a abusive relationship. And yes he was the jealous type. Between Tuesday and Thursday she went to the hospital twice and was turned away. She had no insurance! (Thanks for the healthcare bill Obama. When it goes into affect people will never be refused medical treatment again.) Thursday as she sat in her sisters car she slipped in and out of unconsciousness. Her sister proceeded to rush her to the hospital and as i sat at the same computer doing the samething im doing now, she died in the hospital from internal bleeding. In the city of Alexandria La. its illegal to turn away someone in need of medical attention. Never mind the impending law siut. The sister that rushed her to the hospital showed the police where her sisters attacker lived and they arrested him then let him go! Don't no why? But theres a bigger message here. If you today on this sight are in a abuisive relationship or know somebody that is i urge you to help them! I currently have a friend in a abusive relatoinship but she acts like nothings wrong. I did try to help but she wouldn't let me. I've always been an advocate for womens rights. But now my beleaf in those rights are even stronger today. I stand firm in beleaving in those rights, and I can only hope the rest of the world does to.

Most of the times, the victims of abusive relationship refuse to get out of it themselves.

Probably too afraid to leave. Fear is the most effective form of control.

Yup. Yup. Just like how teh terrorists control people worldwide through fear.

Or is that the mass media? They are probably one and the same.

Utterly terrible.

That's terrible. I'm sorry for your loss. This sort of thing happens far too often.
