Yeah you should pick it and even play it before all the titles you mention ;), thats what I would do. You should have played that long ago :P. I purchase an Xbox only because of that game back then.

Lol, yeah I know, I kept putting it off >_<. Any word on the PS3 release? I would much rather buy that than the xbox 360 version.

I didnt try the PS3 version, but since its a second iteration I guess it is a bit better. Anyway, because its better to use the d-pad to navigate menu in a j-RPG I would purchase for PS3 if I had the choice. I guess it will be cheaper on 360 tho.

Definitely. It's the best jRPG this generation, IMO.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

the irony, i bought this game thinking it was the ps3 version and it was the 360 version since ps3 version didnt get out of japan, is new in its plastic and i would sell it to you very cheap (US$5) but there are around 20k miles between us. :(

I definitely liked a lot about ToS more, and I think I prefer the story in ToS more...

But, this game is amazing, and I highly recommend it. On top of that, I recommend it 100000 times more if you have someone to play with! I played through the whole game with my neighbor and my little brother, and we had a blast. The game is really great and it shouldn't be missed.

Oddly, one of the main things I enjoyed about ToS more was it's difficulty in the battle system. In ToV you have free run...and the enemies are way too stupid to react to free run. In ToS you really actually had to block, counter attacks, and have split-second timing...

But in all the Tales games with free run, it's almost a joke. =\

Still, it was hella fun. ^_^

I preferred both Tales of Symphonia 1 an 2 to Vesperia, but Vesperia is easily one of the better jrpg games this generation beating out both Star Ocean 4 and Final Fantasy 13!! I would pick it up if you enjoyed Tales of Symphonia quite a bit because if you enjoy one Tales game you should enjoy others.

Vesperia is a VERY good game and also a very long one. Its also getting difficult to find. If you see it, you should get it.

Lol, thanks for the offer, but I just got back from the shops with it. Found a copy for $35 :D . I went looking at JB Hi-Fi and they're still selling it for $105 >_<.

I'm not even sure if american xbox games work on australian xbox 360's?

I recently started playing it Tales of Vesperia, and I highly suggest purchasing it.

Not only is it a great JRPG, its arguably one of the best I've ever played. I'm about 20 hours in and I'm loving it. I'd be playing it more if my girl wasn't playing Dragon Age all the god damn time.
