Forums - Gaming - Game survey (For college)

I have to create a idea for a game for college, and i would like to show my idea and get your opinions.

My idea is to create a survival game, where the character gets shipwrecked and ends up on a deserted island, he has to learn how to survive, by building shelters, making weapons, hunting, searching for water, eventually he will progress and explore the island. Then he runs into a dark part of the island, where there seems to be people living, he sees some of his crew-mates he was travelling with, captured by these people, they kill them, then cook, and eat them. The character gets discovered and it becomes a hellish fight for survival.

This game will be mostly free roam and have climbing aspects as such you see in Uncharted or Assassins creed. You will also be able to swim and dive under water.

What Platform(s) would you think is best suited for this?

For the research, if you can:

Could you put your age (so I can find out the basic age group of the people interested in this)

I need to know your gender ( so i can see if this appeals more to males or females, or both evenly)

Location (To see what part of the country will like this the most)

And financial status ( If you are Employed, Student, unemployed or anything else)

Around the Network

I think Nintendo DS would be a good platform for this game. You could use the touch screen to make weapons and building shelters.

As for the platform don't really know could really go on any from the sounds of it. if the climbing and stuff are going to be like assassins creed or uncharted then I guess PS3, xbox 360, or PSP but I am sure it could run on all platforms.

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).
