It should be considered HD, as for example older CRT or Plasma based HDTVs are 1024x768.

Officially: "720 vertical lines in widescreen ratio" is considered HD resolution.

I can't believe I'm interjecting here

But 1024x768 isn't a widescreen ratio

Actually, widescreen refers to the ratio of physical image dimensions, not of their x/y resolutions (i.e. pixels can not be physically square). In the case of digital signals and square pixels (most newer TVs and monitors) obviously the two ratios match. Think that the term "widescreen" originates on analog supports, where there's no notion of pixels.

Anyway, yes, 720p is rendered on older plasmas on panels that are natively 1024x768 with pixels physically elongated in a 4:3 ratio and is still considered HD according to some specifications.

I learned something today. Firstly, I learned about how pixel-stretching works.

Secondly, I learned that HD sometimes doesn't have aas much to do with image fidelity as I thought.

Lastly, I learned to stay out of these conversations because I will end up schooled by a knowledgeable third party

so basically you dont care if it actually has good graphics just about which reviewer is paid to say they are the best like how PSM says everyone of their exclusives is the best??

I Hate the fact that all these pillows are contaminated by retard!!

so then it is HD =P

GoW3 may look better, but it's not as technically impressive because it uses a fixed camera and you can do all sorts of extra stuff if you always know where the camera is going to be going from one moment to the next

Maybe so, but that still leaves Uncharted 2 (and for some even Killzone 2) to dismiss.

bah for KZ2... UC2 still is impressive and it's what I ment to say... God of War 3 isn't as impressive as UC2... as for the Camera... if you know where the camera will be at all time then it's easy to control the amount of textures that are loading in the background... this affords you a much tighter control and lets you push things farther then lets say a FPS or Action Adventure game

But it was to my knowledge that Gow 3 ran at 60 FPS, and uncharted 2 was only at 30. I'm not 100% sure but I think so.

it's time to get the result.

From Destructoid review: "The game manages to be one of the most visually accomplished 360 games out there. While it's not reaching the peak of the PS3's capabilities, the game has a fantastic and evocative artistic style, and there are some wonderful setpieces and lighting."

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

1 up says it's on par with uncharted 1 and says day light is ugly :(

"hello ugly daylight, quirky animations, and a script that mocks the viewer even more than Lost or Twin Peaks"

I'm not surprised about the first graphic statements. Except for the lighting in the night it didn't look so impressive to me. But it should be the best looking 360 game anyway.
