PLAYING video games is an art (as well as a science it seems).
I'm going to assume (hope) that this guy is a college student doing maths, engineering or something similar, I mean this is impressive but I'd hate to see someone with that "potential" waste their life

haha why do you keep ripping on SC4? I'm sure you've got some well planned out argument as to why SC3k is way better than SC4, so let's hear it. |
I'm not just downplaying Sim City 4. There's been multiple Sim City games since Sim City 3000. Just they've all done new things that went far off course of the original design of the games. But I've already gone into detail with those things in previous threads. Suffice to say, the 'area of effectiveness' for Civic Buildings and Public utilities in Sim City 4 made planning a city go from fun to frustrating and the layout of having to build certain zones certain sizes (as well as not too far from civic buildings and recreation) made actually achieving a sizable city a chore. Its one thing to want to make the game more realistic...its another thing to have to make it so everything has to be right next to each other or else nothing grows at all.
...God damn.
If that wasn't mad genius in action, I don't know what is.

So why is it that when someone posts a, 100% Super Mario World in 26min video, everyone praises the guy as though he were a genius and a god of gaming. Even though this feat has taken years of game play and hundreds perhaps thousands of attempts to complete.
Then when someone posts a video like this and shows how much work they put into it, everyone calls the guy a loser for being passionate enough about his preferred game to spend as much time as the guy who can beat Super Mario World in 26min.
I double standard I say.
Yeah, I heard about this yesterday. All it has done is make me want to dust off my old copy of Sim city 3000...

Don't worry, the people that do speed runs are losers too.
I think I'am traumatised.
Dem, if he's unemployed this would be very good for his resemay. I mean if he can do this kind of math he would be a very valuable addition to many companies. I know the math isn't entirely the same as in the game, but I'll bet he can do much more than that.
May the adjustments be with you

I feel a disturbance in the sales
