I guess some game journalist are no different then a large amount of gamers the like to judge a game before the final product is released.

That's the job of a game journalist. Heard of a preview?

I never saw a preview that speculated on the final resolution of a game.  That's something that might come up in a Q and A for a upcoming game but not a preview.

The pixelcounting has nothing to do with this, the criticism of the two websites comes because they put up videos of the game without permission.

Game footage gets leaked all the time but it usually doesn't include speculation of the games final resolution.

So we're bashing the pixelcounters instead of the people who leaked the footage, who are the people that comment is directed at, which is the topic this thread is based on?

Your argument has nothing to do with the topic!

The pixelcounters are also the people that leaked the footage.

Uhm, no. MazingerDUDE is the pixelcounter, and he made his analysis based on the videos that Gamepro and Videogameszone leaked. MazingerDUDE is a guy on a forum, he has nothing to do with those two.

It's too bad all this pixel counting nonsense has gotten so out of control. I mean I don't remember any of this happening last generation, people just seemed to enjoy the games back then.

It hasn't changed, people still enjoy their games. It is just that now there are two popular consoles for the hardcore gamer where as back then there was just one. So people who got the unpopular one were less inclinded to start a debate/poll with those who got the popular one because they would lose just based on numbers.

Within these hollow walls of VGChartz things may have changed but out there hardly anyone cares for these pitiful debates and sales reflect that. A close up comparison of the graphics between two versions of a multiplatform game or the pixel count of an exclusive will not effect sales at all.

Bullshit? Not at all... a generalisation? possibly...

but I agree... most gaming journalists are very poor imo.

I only have to look at some of the review scores this generation to know they're going to the dogs.  I'm not going to label individual games but there is some huge franchises that got higher marks than they deserved.  I remember a time when seeing a game get a score in excess of 90% was a big thing, now its expected that there is several in most pubilcations.  I think somehow there was games given scores that were too high at the start of the generation and that as set the bar for the 9 and 10 too low this generation now.

I think he has a point but perhaps its not the best time to be too outspoken just before your game is getting reviewed by the people you're insulting!
