if they add dlc to wiiware then I'm on board. Also Rock Band with all of its dlc would make my head ad wallet explode.

haha, too true. and you know what? re-releasing GH1&2 for Wii would be the perfect way for Activision/RedOctane to combat Rockband. Of course it isn't going to be running Rockband out of town, but it'll definitely make people second-guess their decision to go with Rockband.

Train of thought would go something along these lines:

"Oh, wow! Rockband! That's such a fun game! But... wait... I can spend less money and get THREE Guitar Hero games for the Wii! Oh, wow, that's such a good deal... AND the 'old' Guitar Hero games were improved for the Wiilease! Man, that really does make it look like a better deal!"

Bam.

its not so simple. they dont have any source code. the gh2 for 360 was done with the original source code by harmonix. getting activision to do it would mean relicensing it, redoing all the songs, and putting it on the gh3 engine. its questionable if it would be worth it. much smarter to just keep going forward.

RedOctane probably has all the source code in their possession, as they've owned the Guitar Hero name from the get-go.

And if they don't, they already have the GH3 engine that helps. It's not that complicated at all. An easy way to do it would be to merely take the GH3 engine, remove GH3 images, graphics, and songs, and overlay on top the GH1/GH2 content instead.

Even if it were a completely new development, the game would sell outrageously, and it'd boost GH3 sales as well. There's no doubt that it's worth it; we just have to bring that to Activision's attention.

Besides, we've been seeing PS2 ports galore coming out for the Wii since launch. Why not release another one that people actually want?

im just hoping for a properly working version of Guitar Hero 3. they need to achieve this before worrying about anything else.

 Nah, I think that one happened in Korea.

Since Activision apparently can't do downloads for Wii for whatever reason, I totally expect them to release full disks instead (like Rock the 80'2 for PS2) which in my mind is WAY better and cheaper than those 360 downloads.

So with that it mind, a GH/GH2 game would be an obvious one to do early on.

Since the sound for GH3 on the wii is in MONO, maybe they should try and fix that firrst.
