Kaz, while no one knows what is the full truth. You can understand why people pick the two employees over Activision.

Activision as of late has been a little bit cocky and assholish (CEO Comments). Also I believe the reason why two employees left and betrayed Activision was in part to the royalties that were not paid out. Which if I remember correctly was for everyone in the company not just the two people.

Edit: Assuming they did leave, and meet up with EA. (which might or might not be true).

No, I can't understand why people pick the two employees over activision.

In one story, they are both wrong... in the other story... only the two employees are wrong.

So, either you should be siding with Activision or nobody.

Also it wasn't that royalties weren't paid out.  You've got your story wrong.  The Royalty payments were on time.  It's just they started AFTER those two were fired.

Actually even under their Lawsuit they're the only guys who are wrong.  They are just bitching because the franchise they made was way more successful then they thought and they want more money.  The lawsuit even says as much.

"They bought us for 5 million then made 3 billion!"

You might be wasting your breath as people always blame the corporation and side with these poor artist are foced into slave labor by taking good money to make a f..king video game.

Of course we blame the corporation. Corporations are evil. Activision is more evil than most.

1) How were they unreasonable? Your arguement is... the terms were unreasonable... maybe? Also if the contract terms are unreasonable... there is this thing you can do called... not signing it in the first place.

If the terms were unreasonable it doesn't matter from a moral standpoint if you violate them. Morality and legality are two separate things.

2) Then they shouldn't sign contracts to do so? If you don't like your contract your only option is to sit home. Without pay until your contract runs out. If you don't like it... don't sign a contract like that! That was their options... they chose instead to violate the terms of their contracts. If you did such a thing in a sports league you would be HEAVILY fined and be forced to sit out the rest of your contract. Once again, they WILLINGLY signed away this.

So they violated the terms of their contract. Who cares? Is not obeying Bobby Kotick's every whim really such a terrible thing?

Not obeying your evil corporate overlords doesn't make you immoral.

3) Your second part exlains the first. They played activision, stalling the bonuses to make them look cheap. Now few people believe those were really coming... (even though in this very article it's brought up) anddd everyone left.

Everyone left because they trust West and Zampella and not Activision. You might want to consider why that might be.

1) Yes... in fact it does.  If you sign a contract... it is your moral obligation to adhere to it.  You've also not mentioned one thing that is unreasonable.

2) Breaking your word is in fact immoral.

3)  I already did...?  Go back and read the quote your replying to.

No, it is your legal obligation.

It's unreasonable that Activision refused to give Infinity Ward creative control over their own creation.

2) Breaking your word is in fact immoral.

Not always.

3) I already did...? Go back and read the quote your replying to.

Your explanation for why so many valuable IW employees seem to have sided with West and Zampella instead of their wonderful boss Bobby Kotick doesn't make much sense. If West and Zampella had really tried to deny these employees their bonuses they would not have sided with them. That's all there is to it.

I'm going to ask a very serious question that may come off as insulting... but it is very serious.

How old are you?

I mean, no offense, but you are acting as quite literally the prototypical strawman one might create if I wanted to make people blaming activision look bad.

Coporations are evil and Activision is more evil then most?

Are we to ignore how much coprorations have improved the world?  Also, hat coprorations are made up of... people?  Corporations are not Immoral.  They are Amoral.

They are neither good or bad, they are simply a collection of people trying to provide products to people.  If you made it so people could break contracts whenever they wanted... society just wouldn't work anymore.

1) So... if I hire someone to remodel my bathroom I'm suddenly not aloud to make any suggestions or choose anything, I just have to let them do whatever they please and hope I like it.

2) No... it is... always.  You promise to do something, then you go back on that promise.  That is always immoral.

3) Once again... read the actual quote... and the countersuit by activision.

Do you listen to Rush Limbaugh?

Corporations do not exist to improve the world. They don't even exist to provide products to people. They exist to make money. Many of them will go to any lengths to make money, even if it causes untold suffering: remember the economic collapse we just experienced due to the actions of selfish, irresponsible, and evil banks?

Some corporations are worse than others. As far as video game publishers go, Activision is one of the worst.

If you made it so people could break contracts whenever they wanted... society just wouldn't work anymore.

And if you made it so that corporations could unilaterally destroy the careers of employees who crossed them creativity wouldn't exist.

No.

I promise to help you.
You tell me to kill your neighbor.
I refuse.

I have broken my promise, but I have not engaged in any sort of immoral act.

3) Once again... read the actual quote... and the countersuit by activision.

Activision is lying. Their interpretation of events simply does not make any sense in the light of the fact that their own employees obviously support West and Zampella.

OT: the studio is crumbling, maybe Activision will try to cover that fact up with MW3, we'll see.

lots of people take the side of these developers who think and dress like they are rockstars.
They are not concerned with the corporation even though the corporation is responsible for alot of employees who are not directly involved with the game develpement. f... these self important jackasses
