Good to know that she's all right. What's the prognosis on her eye, exactly? Does she still have to worry about droopy eye?

She also reached for my sister's phone today and said "Junky", so she let her talk to me on the phone just an hour ago. |
yay!
By "repaired the muscles on the eyelid" does it mean the droopy eye will be better?

They won't know until at least 2-3 weeks from now, after the swelling subsides, but they are pretty sure that it will be only a slight droop.

It was going to end up being droopy after the surgery to begin with. Difference here is that they say the outcome of the surgery was better than expected.

The dog is getting old and ever since his hernia surgery where he also had his testicles removed he has had a completely different personality. Sometimes he is a mush and sometimes he is a mean son of a bitch. This could have been anyone's kid and not just my sister's.
While I do not deny that my sister is to blame for allowing my niece to hit the dog, the dog is still becoming quite an issue, especially in a home where my 9 1/2 month old daughter is living. Plus, how do you teach a 2 year old to not walk over to a dog or pull it's tail, hair, etc...? Even my daughter now likes to grab the small dog by the hair. Remember, these are very little children who really do not know any better. |
Yeah... I'm still on the dogs side. By no means should your sister's kid be taken away... but it's a much more just solution then punishing the dog. That's for sure.
It's just like the conversation we had in the other thread on which you agreed with. About hackers and the people who do bad things with them.
It's not the Hackers or the Firmwares fault... it's the people who pirate.
It's the exact same situation here.
My aunt had a 2 year old... and she succesfully taught her 2 year old to not antagonize their dogs... so it is possible, and even if it wasn't... it's a simple thing to teach the kids not to go near the dog... or just keep the animals away in general.
Lots of people have young children and animals so it's surely possible.

Here is a picture of my niece for anyone interested.

Here is me and both of my girls, Halloween 2009.
First time I post my face on VGChartz.

I am not saying it isn't my sister's fault, because I know it is, but the dog is still agressive to any child that sets foot at the house.
As a parent I would never side with an animal like that.

Which is why I think it would be ideal if, you could look to give him to a no child family. I know it's hard when you gotta give up an animal you adore, but such is life. The safety of the children comes first.

Indeed it does.
I would also love to be able to find a family for the dog instead of putting him down.
I see you live in Jersey, I live on Long Island.
Want a dog?
