Forums - Microsoft - Ghost Recon: Future Warrior has Natal support?

http://www.vg247.com/2010/04/14/rumour-ghost-recon-future-soldier-supports-natal/

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has a big party trick up its sleeve: it supports Natal.

According to French website JeuxVideo, the shooter will have a special mode with support from the motion-camera. The site says:

“According to our sources, the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier would be compatible with the device. A special game mode would therefore benefit from the recognition of movements, the aim being to keep the joystick in one hand and interact with the interface with your other. It’s possible to give orders through different types of movements directed by the wrist.”

We’ll get onto Ubisoft about this. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier releases this holiday season for 360, PS3 and PC. A multiplayer beta is due to kick off in summer, which you can access by buying Splinter Cell: Conviction this week.

Natal is due out by this Christmas.

I hope that's true, it sounds like something with potential! If it's fun, it would definitely make me get the 360 version, even though I'm keen on playing the multiplayer (I'm not about to pay for XBL).

nice, that could give some nice imersive gameplay.... maybe they should use a dance dance revolution mat for movement, that would ease the input controls :p

Hmm. Interesting idea on the controller in one hand. Lets see how that works if it is real.

A special gamemode, sounds better then some gimmick you can put on and off during a normal game mode that is obviously designed to work best without Natal (which I fear Fable 3 will have).

Microsoft should have put one handheld device in the Natal package. It doesn't need to have a motion sensor in it but a few buttons and a thumbstick come a long way to make more hardcore gameplay possible on Natal. I'm sure you can do a shooter with Natal but it would require a strong auto-aim making it an easier game then a hardcore FPS players wants to play. Ghos't Recon's sollution doesn't sound very promising, the controller's battery pack makes holding it with one hand a bit uncomfortable. Besides keeping the old controller goes against the basic idea of Natal.

hmm using a joystick defeats natal's purpose to not use a controller...

Kudo Tsunoda(Creative director for Natal), stated Natal is just making a new tool for developers to utilize. They don't care what they do with it, whether that is to use it in conjunction with another controller, or to make a completely new controller and use it with it.

On topic, this could be interesting. Wonder what kind of mode it is.
