This is basically the same exact phone as the Tmobile sidekick which is almost a decade old by now. I mean really, no apps? Did they miss the whole Iphone and clones thing? I mean even Blackberries have a ton of apps and an app store by now. The only way this is anywhere near a hit is if it costs 50 dollars or less subsidized by the carriers. Just another underwhelming product announcement from Microsoft. At least when Apple throws these codenamed events they have...you know....something cool and successful to show there. If they sell hundreds of thousands of these on launch day I'll be so surprised I might end up with a heart attack despite being in my 20s. Or maybe I'm wrong and this will be brilliant and successful like the Zune has been (in other words 90th on the Amazon store behind dozens of Apple products and even a few products from Sandisk and other also rans like the Zune HD is). |
This is a feature phone, not a smart phone. Why would it have apps? It is basically just a regular phone with cloud based services. And MS isn't advertising it as the second coming. Just an offering aimed at tweens and internet socialites. A small side project. WP7 is where it is at and it looks fantastic. Just like the Zune HD. But, I guess, to you, sales makes a better product.

the thing is with the Android OS slowly taking over even the weaker phones which can handle many apps. The featured phone market should be transitioning to a low-level smart phone level.

I can see this as an awesome sexting device. A low end phone which can be easily accessed by young teens discovering their sexuality. A sexting, facebook, twitter, social network type of device. Parent's should be wary of these phones.
funky! well I won't be getting one lol

Reminds me of the hype surrounding the iPhone. Well, I mean sounds like MS is trying to hype up this thing. Anyways, I direct you to this link:

Really? You think the marketing around these Kin phones rivals the iPhone marketing?
