Not too long ago, John McAllister beat the record for the arcade game ASTEROIDS. The record of 41,336,440 was set 28 years ago. The new record is 41,338,740

He played for 58 hours straight. No pauses were allowed. In order to take a break, he had to gather up enough lives so that he could do something else while his ship was continually blasted away, then he would come back to the game when his lives were low. He was good enough to just graze past the previous record by about 2000 points.

Yeah, I saw this earlier congrats to the person who set the new record but 58 hours, DAMN!!!!

Well, he did it over the weekend :D i would love to know how many times he attempted to break the record.

Whoa can't believe I missed this thread. A friend just told me about it today.

Hehehe, the source that you linked to posted the news on April 8th, said he broke the record on April 6th, and referred to it as "last night."
